I grew up on the Isles of Scilly and discovered a love of baking when I made my son's first birthday cake in 1996. I then found any opportunity I could to make and decorate cakes for family and friends and had no intentions of turning it into a business.
Then in 2005 I was asked to make a cake and she insisted on paying for it, and that was the beginning of Becky's Scilly Cakes.
I Started off very slowly to begin with only making one or two cakes a month until my confidence grew with only word of mouth sales. Then in 2010 I decided to start advertising and that's when it all took off. I started getting orders from visitors as well as locals and the business just grew and grew until my house was full of cake decorating supplies, cake tins and baking ingredients. So in 2013 I took the very scary plunge of giving up my job and setting up in business as a full time cake decorator. I took on the unit at Porthcressa in March of 2014 and I am still amazed every day at how well it's going and at how many people need cake!
I love model making so toppers are a big theme on may cakes. I try to make them look as close to the person, pet, thing I am copying as possible so photos are always really helpful for these types of cakes. This makes the cake personal to you and you know there will never be another one like it. Toppers keep for years in the right conditions.

All my cakes are made in the traditional way using proper ingredients and local free range eggs. No packet mixes or preservatives in my kitchen.
Unfortunately I cannot send decorated sponge cakes in the post but I can send tray bakes, simply decorated rich fruit cakes, mincemeat and christmas puddings. For parcels under 2kg postage is £5 .
